Our 8th Sprout Swap was another huge success! We did a few things differently this time and would like to share our final thoughts with you.
For those of you who are not familiar with our Sprout Swap, it is a consignment sale that we hold twice a year. We only accept cloth diapers, baby carriers and Breastfeeding items for the Swap. This way we can focus on the items that you don’t traditionally find at children’s resale shops or other consignment sales.
Participants in the Swap list and tag their own items. Sprout Soup organizes and sells the items during our Swap weekend. We make sure every item we show is top quality and ready for a new home.
On Friday night we offered an exclusive preview sale. Since we knew everyone would want to come to it, we decided to limit the number of people and require a donation for each shopping slot.
For the 6-7pm hour we collected donations for The Buckeye Ranch.
We had 12 donations for a total of $135!
Sprout Soup will match that and send The Buckeye Ranch $270
|For the 7-8pm hour we collected donations for Mid-Ohio Foodbank.
We had 6 donations for a total of $60!
Sprout Soup will match that and send Mid-Ohio Foodbank $120
We had 38 participants selling in this Swap. Nearly all of them sold at least 90% of their items. Five participants sold everything they brought! We were extremely happy with the number of families who came to shop and left us with very few items leftover.
Our next Swap will be in February, 2013. Stay tuned for details on how you can participate!
